Requirements

Pioneers will join following divisions based on their ages by the registration deadline.

Kindergarten Division (Age 6 and below)

Elementary Division (Age 7-11)

Advanced Division (Age 12-16)

 

Individual or team (up to 6 pioneers) participation are both accepted, but cross-divisional teaming is not allowed.

 

Pioneers shall choose one of the three SDG categories:

Economic Growth

Environmental Protection

Social Inclusion

Deliverable

Kindergarten Division: Piece of Work

Elementary Division: Piece of Work + Brief

Advanced Division: Piece of Work + Brief

 

 

01 Work

 

Works shall meet the following submission formats. For language entries, any language (including dialects) is acceptable, but must be accompanied by explanations/translations/subtitles in Chinese or English.

 

02 Brief

 

Submission shall be in PDF format (either handwritten or typed), 1 to 2 pages, in Chinese or English, including an introduction to the work, its application to the chosen SDG, thought process, etc.

Graphics

  • Sample type of work: drawing and painting, calligraphy, photo, design, comic, etc.

  •  

    Format and size: JPG format, limited to 10MB in total

     

Texts or Texts+Graphics

Sample type of work: story, fiction, travel note, business plan, field study, etc.

 

Format and size: PDF format (either handwritten or typed), limited to 20MB in total

Videos

Sample type of work: song, drama, instrument performance, martial art, speech, invention, volunteer work, robotics, etc.

 

Format and size: MP4/ RMVB/AVI format, limited to 10 minutes in total (upload to a file-sharing website, list as public, and provide the URL)

Website

Sample type of work: programming, website design, etc.

 

Format and size: provide URL, no size limit

2024 Fall Agenda

1. Registration & Submission

After registration, pioneers shall submit a complete deliverable (Work+Brief) through email.

 

Please refer to below email instructions.

★ Oct 25: Registration Deadline

★ Oct 30: Deliverable Submission Deadline

 

2. Prescreen

★ Mid-Nov: Result Notification

The Committee will announce the shortlist. Only shortlisted pioneers are eligible to advance for selection. Pioneers can choose to submit a new deliverable.

 

The Committee will verify identity information with all shortlisted pioneers. The Committee will defer issuance of awards or certificates until the identity information is confirmed.

Shortlisted pioneers should confirm whether to advance in the selection process. 

 

The Committee will announce the award winners and the Global Presentation shortlist.

3. Global Selection

★ Nov 30: Confirmation Deadline

★ Dec 20: Result Notification

By invitation only. Details will be announced with the shortlist.

4. Global Presentation

★ Rolling All Year Round

Fees

Prescreen: Free

 

Global Selection: USD 45/Person

 

Fees include any materials used, evaluation, certificates and awards, communication costs, qualification for inclusion in the Committee's global portfolio, qualification for presentation at UN institutions or UN activities.

 

Special groups, such as people with disabilities can make a note at registration. The Committee will verify with parents/guardians after the prescreen and apply for a fee waiver for Global Selection.
